FOUR BLAST SWIMMERS MAKE BIG SPLASH AT MONROE MEET!
Four swimmers from the Kehoe-France Northshore BLAST made a big splash the 22nd Annual John “Pitt” Pittington Invitational Monroe, Louisiana for on January 13 – 15.
The meet was hosted by Indian Aquatic Club of Monroe and was attended by nearly 500 swimmers from Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Montana and Louisiana.
The four, Griffin Guzan, 7, Kat Snitzer, 15, Colin Babcock, 13, and Zach Knudsen, 15, placed 11th out of 19 teams.

Griffin Guzan paced the BLAST by winning the 8 & under individual high point award. Guzan won six of 10 individual events and finished second in the other four. He won the 25 yard fly, 50 fly, 25 breast, 50 breast, 25 back and 50 back. He finished second in the 25 yd. free, 50 free, 100 free and 100 IM. He set team records in the 100 free and 50 fly.
Kathryn Snitzer, 15, Colin Babcock, 13, and Zach Knudsen, 15, also scored for the BLAST. Snitzer won the girls open 100 and 200 yard breaststroke and placed fifth in the 200 IM, sixth in the 100 free, seventh in the 200 free and eighth in the 400 IM. She set team records in the 400 IM, 100 fly and 100 free.
Babcock placed 8th in the 13-14 boys 200 IM and 100 breast. He posted 100% best times and set team records in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 100 fly and 200 IM.
Knudsen placed 9th in the 200 breaststroke and set team records in the 15-16 500 free, 1000 free, 1650 free and 400 IM.
The BLAST team will next be competing in the Crawfish Aquatics Winter Invitational in Baton Rouge January 27-29.
