COACHES
William F Babcock III began swim coaching in 1969. He coached for various AAU and USS swim teams in Connecticut and Alabama before moving in 1976 to Louisiana. From 1976 to 1996 he coached for the Piranha Swim Team, Shark Swim Team Tchefuncta Country Club, North Shore Aquatics Association, All Acadiana Aquatics, Lafayette High School and Franco’s Fins.

In 1996 Coach Bill became Physical Education Teacher and Swim Coach for Kehoe-France Northshore. From 1996-2004 the school won five State Presidential Challenge Physical Fitness Awards, and was League Swim Champions for four consecutive years.

Coach Bill was a Part-time Assistant Coach for Franco’s Fins from 1997 – 2002.

He was a Part-time Assistant and 8 & under Coach for Pelican Athletic Club in 2003 – 2004.  During that time, the 8 & under team finished in the top three in Louisiana for three consecutive regionals.

During the 2004- 2005 swim seasons, Coach Bill was Franco’s Fin Developmental Swim Director.  After one year, the team rose to one of the top four teams in the state for 10 & unders.

In 2005 Coach Bill started the BLAST SWIM TEAM in Covington, LA.
